One visitor mentioned, “The staff was very helpful and polite,” and another praised Sami, a staff member, for resolving a policy question and making the visit “a smoother experience.”
  5. Safe Environment: The presence of lifeguards and safety measures gave parents peace of mind. One reviewer noted, “There are life guards on shore and two actually in the lake,” which made them feel “comfortable that everyone was safe.”
  6. Reasonable Pricing: Concessions and entry fees were considered affordable, with one reviewer stating, “The concessions are very moderately priced” and another calling it a “great value for money.”
  7. Community Engagement and Honesty: The park’s transparency about challenges, such as Michigan’s bureaucratic issues affecting operations, was appreciated. One reviewer wrote, “I appreciate you keeping it real with the community,” which reinforced trust in the park’s commitment to its customers.
  8. Fun and Excitement: The addition of new attractions like the “Slick Slides” was a hit, with one visitor calling it “a game-changer” and another noting, “The kids and I always have an absolute BLAST.”

Areas for Improvement

  1. Unsanitary Conditions in Grass Areas: One reviewer mentioned “goose poop all over in grass,” which they felt could be cleaned up each morning. This issue, while not affecting the main attractions, could detract from the overall experience for visitors.
  2. Inconsistent Lifeguard Policies: A reviewer noted that one lifeguard refused to allow children to “come out and then go back in,” while others did not enforce the rule. This inconsistency could confuse families and raise safety concerns.
  3. Height Requirements for Kids: A visitor shared frustration over a height policy requiring children to be at least 48 inches tall, which excluded their 45-inch-old son. While the policy is likely for safety, it may deter some families from visiting.
  4. Communication and Accessibility Issues: One reviewer had trouble contacting the park during early hours, as the team was still closed. While the staff eventually resolved the issue, the lack of immediate support could be a point for improvement.
  5. Potential Closure Due to External Factors: The park’s future is tied to state regulations in Michigan, which one reviewer described as “causing Hundreds of families not to have fun in 2025.” While this is an external challenge, it highlights the need for contingency planning or transparency about potential changes.
  6. Crowd Management: A group of 11 visitors mentioned feeling overwhelmed, though they still had a positive experience. Ensuring adequate space and resources during peak times could enhance comfort for larger groups.

Recommendations

  1. Check Height Requirements Before Arrival: Families with younger children should review the park’s height policies in advance to avoid disappointment. This will help ensure a smooth experience and prevent last-minute issues.
  2. Arrive Early to Avoid Crowds: The park may become busy, especially during peak hours. Arriving early can help secure better access to attractions and reduce wait times for rides or activities.
  3. Use Coupons and Promotions: One reviewer successfully used a coupon provided by staff, which helped offset costs. Checking for seasonal discounts or promotions can make the visit more affordable for families.
  4. Follow Lifeguard Guidelines: While the park’s safety measures are commendable, visitors should adhere to lifeguard instructions to ensure a secure environment. This includes respecting rules about entering and exiting the water.
  5. Stay Informed About Park Updates: Given the park’s reliance on state regulations, visitors should monitor the website or social media for announcements about potential closures or changes to operations.
  6. Report Unsanitary Conditions: If visitors notice issues like goose droppings in grass areas, they should report them to staff. This can help the park maintain cleanliness and improve the overall visitor experience.
  7. Plan for Group Visits: For large families or groups, it’s advisable to plan ahead for space and resources. The park’s staff can assist with logistics, ensuring everyone enjoys the day without overcrowding.
  8. Engage with the Community: The park’s transparency about challenges like state bureaucracy has earned it trust. Future visitors can support the park by sharing positive experiences and encouraging others to visit, helping sustain its operations.
  9. Visit During Off-Peak Times: To avoid crowds and enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere, consider visiting during weekdays or early mornings. This can also provide better access to facilities like concessions or shaded areas.
  10. Provide Feedback to Improve the Experience: Visitors are encouraged to share their thoughts on both positive and negative aspects. Constructive feedback can help the park address concerns and enhance its offerings for future guests.
